Psychology Services

Professional psychological support using evidence-based therapies to help you overcome challenges and to improve your mental health and wellbeing.
Our experienced clinical psychologist, Dr Laura Edwards, provides a range of psychological therapies that are aimed at helping and empower you to overcome various psychological conditions and support you with stressful life challenges. The psychological conditions that Laura works with include depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD and complex trauma.

Therapy approaches

There are a range of therapy approaches that can be used to help you.

It is important to find the right approach for helping with your particular set of difficulties, and also one that aligns best with how you make sense of the world.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT explores how our thoughts, emotions and behaviours are interconnected. It helps develop more adaptive ways of perceiving ourselves and situations, while building practical skills for managing life's challenges.
Schema Therapy
Schema therapy identifies and changes self-defeating patterns rooted in childhood experiences and unmet emotional needs, helping improve relationships and overall wellbeing.
Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is an evidence-based trauma treatment using bilateral stimulation (eye movements or tapping) while recalling traumatic events, helping the brain process trauma more quickly than talking therapy alone.
Mentalisation based therapy (MBT)
MBT improves relationships by helping people understand their own and others' mental states and feelings. It's particularly effective for emotional regulation difficulties and relationship challenges.
Lifespan Integration
A gentle trauma approach using timeline work and body-focused techniques to address how trauma is held somatically, whether through heightened arousal or disconnection.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy
Explores how past experiences and unconscious processes shape current feelings and relationships, working at a deep relational level to understand and address core emotional difficulties.
